Sean’s photo-essay on military youth-programs, Tomorrow’s Army, led to his selection as one of the 25 under 25: Up and Coming American Photographers by the Center for Documentary Studies at Duke University. The work was published by Powerhouse Books in 2008. His work based on one young man’s transition from high school student into a soldier, The Third Marine, was selected as Best of Photojournalism 2008 by Photo District News (PDN). Sean was selected to attend the 2008 Eddie Adams Workshop, the prestigious photojournalism gathering in Jeffersonville, NY.

He interned for photographer/filmmaker Lauren Greenfield, worked at The Oakland Tribune, the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, the San Mateo Daily Journal, and ran a photography program at Covenant House, the largest private youth shelter in the country. Sean works for local publications and businesses, focusing on portrait and multimedia projects, and always brings a fresh and creative eye to his subject.

Sean learns his most important life lessons from his many subjects for which he is very appreciative.
When he is not shooting Sean can usually be found along the coast looking for surf or a good hike.
